On-site legacy interviews

Preserve the story of a lifetime.

Forever Echoes creates beautifully filmed conversations that capture your loved one’s stories, expressions, and voice — so your family can return to them again and again.

Capture their memories while they can still share them in their own words. Now is the time to record the moments and wisdom you never want to lose.

Format: On-site, professionally filmed interviews
For: Parents, grandparents, elders & loved ones
Why these videos matter

Because their stories deserve to be heard — again and again.

We all say we’ll sit down and record our parents’ or grandparents’ stories “someday.” Life moves quickly, and it’s easy to put it off. But the laughter, details, and little turns of phrase that make them who they are won’t stay vivid forever. A legacy interview gently pauses time for a few hours, so your family can treasure those moments for decades.

More than a slideshow or a phone clip.

A legacy video captures the warmth in their eyes, the way they tell a story, the inside jokes, the quiet pauses. It’s a living keepsake your family can return to on holidays, anniversaries, and ordinary Tuesdays when you simply miss them.

  • Give children, grandchildren, and future generations the chance to truly know the person behind the photographs.
  • Capture stories that rarely show up on paper — the small, meaningful moments they remember most.
  • Create a gift that can be passed down again and again: their stories, voice, and presence, preserved with care.

Lindsey Vernick has spent years as a television producer, crafting stories for national TV. She knows how to guide a conversation so it feels natural, comfortable, and meaningful — even for people who have never been on camera before.

After losing her grandfather, the interviews she recorded with him became one of her most treasured possessions. Those clips now mean everything — and one day, they’ll allow her future children to see and hear the man who helped shape her life. Lindsey created Forever Echoes so other families can have that same irreplaceable gift.

About Lindsey

A producer’s eye, a granddaughter’s heart.

Lindsey brings the professionalism of a seasoned television producer together with the tenderness of someone who knows what it’s like to wish for one more conversation. She’s here to make the experience comfortable, dignified, and surprisingly enjoyable for everyone involved.

Your producer & interviewer
Lindsey Vernick
Founder, Forever Echoes & Former HGTV Producer
  • Years of experience producing stories for television — including HGTV — where clear, emotional storytelling matters.
  • Skilled at putting people at ease so the conversation feels like a warm chat, not a formal interview.
  • Thoughtful, open-ended questions help your loved one share memories at their own pace and in their own voice.
  • Professional attention to lighting, sound, and framing to ensure the video looks as meaningful as it feels.

Sitting across from a parent or grandparent with cameras rolling can feel intimidating. Lindsey’s calm, friendly presence helps them relax. She explains everything, takes breaks when needed, and gently guides the conversation so it never feels like an interrogation.

The result is a beautifully crafted film that still feels completely genuine. Their laugh is still their laugh. Their stories still sound like them. You’re not getting an actor reciting a script — you’re getting your loved one, just as you know them, preserved with care.

What we talk about

The stories only they can tell.

Every interview is unique, but certain themes show up again and again: childhood adventures, how they met the love of their life, the twists and turns of a career, and the quiet moments that ended up meaning the most. Together, we shape an interview that feels like them.

  • Childhood & family roots
  • Love stories & friendships
  • Career & calling
  • Life’s turning points
  • Parenthood & grandparenthood
  • Values, faith & perspective
  • Advice & wishes for the future
  • Favorite stories & traditions

Some families want a sweeping life story; others focus on a few chapters that matter most. We tailor the conversation to your loved one’s energy, personality, and comfort level, honoring what they’re ready to share.

Kind words from families

“We’ll be grateful for this forever.”

Families often say they’re surprised by how meaningful — and how comforting — it feels to know that these stories are now safely preserved. Here are a few of the things they’ve shared after watching their legacy videos.

“Hearing my dad tell stories from his childhood in his own voice was incredibly moving. My kids are still young now, but one day they’ll get to hear those same stories straight from him. We’ll be grateful for this forever.”

Sarah M.
Daughter & mom of two

“My grandmother was nervous about being on camera, but within minutes she was laughing and talking like she always does at our kitchen table. Lindsey captured that exact feeling. It’s like having a visit with her whenever we want.”

Jason L.
Grandson

“We watched the video together as a family and everyone saw a different favorite moment. Some of us cried, some of us laughed, but we all agreed: we’re so glad we did this now, not ‘someday.’”

FAQ

Questions you might be asking.

A legacy interview is a big and beautiful step for a family. It’s completely normal to have questions — especially about how it will feel for your loved one. Here are answers to some of the most common ones.

Where do you film?
Most interviews are filmed in the comfort of your loved one’s home, or another meaningful location where they feel relaxed. We bring all the necessary camera, lighting, and sound equipment and sets up in a quiet, comfortable spot.
How long does the interview take?
It depends on the package, but plan on 2–4 hours of filming time, with plenty of breaks. We move at your loved one’s pace so they never feel rushed or overwhelmed.
Do you help with questions and preparation?
Absolutely. We’ll have a planning call to discuss what matters most to your family. We'll create a custom set of themes and questions so your loved one doesn’t have to “prepare” — they just show up and share.
What if my loved one is camera-shy or nervous?
Most people are! We're used to working with everyday people who have never been on camera. She explains the process, keeps the equipment as unobtrusive as possible, and builds trust so it feels like a conversation, not a performance.
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better, especially if your loved one’s schedule or energy levels fluctuate. Reach out with your timing and we’ll do everything we can to find a date that feels good for everyone involved.
How is the video delivered, and in what format?
You’ll receive a secure, private digital link you can watch on any device and share with family. Many families also choose to add keepsake copies on USB drive or another preferred format.
Can other family members be part of the interview?
Yes. Some families like to have a spouse or adult child appear in a portion of the interview, or ask a few questions on camera. We can talk about what feels right for your loved one and your family during the planning call.
What if we have special requests?
Whether it’s including old photos, recording in a specific location, or capturing a particular tradition, we’re happy to explore options. Mention any ideas during our discovery call and we’ll work together to find a solution.
